Standards & Seals of Approval

The standards and seals of approval used in the region and our tourist facilities are key to the success of visitors’ holidays.

In fact, they guarantee the quality of welcome, information and excellent service to customers, as well as the rich heritage of the destination.

The Rouen Normandy metropolitan region, Towns and Lands of Art and History, is renowned for the richness of its architecture as well as its valued natural, industrial and maritime heritage.

The Rouen Normandy Tourism & Convention Office is rated a first class Tourist Office. All its services strive each day to meet your expectations in terms of quality of attention and information. You can help improve our quality of information and reception by answering our online quality questionnaire.

The tourist information points in Rouen and Jumièges have received Tourism and Disability classification. This seal of approval ensures a welcome suitable for people suffering from mental, visual and hearing disabilities.

Towns and Lands of Art and History

Since 1 January 2012, the entire territory of the Rouen Normandy metropolitan region (71 towns) has been assessed for seals of approval.

The objectives of this assessment are to:

  • Present the region’s heritage in all its aspects (built heritage, furnishings, urban, natural, marine, industrial…).
  • Sensitize people to their heritage and environment.
  • Introduce young audiences to heritage, architecture and urbanism.
  • Welcome tourists by providing a discovery tours program.
  • Ensure communication and promotion of heritage for a diverse audience.
  • Implement a heritage entertainment program with qualified personnel authorized by the Ministry of Culture and Communication.
  • Develop training activities for municipal staff, tourist and social education workers, and associations.

Tourism Quality Seal of Approval

Rouen Normandy Tourism & Convention Office holds a Quality Tourism seal of approval. This seal is a mark of quality service for customer satisfaction, as well as a distinction of reliability.

This seal of approval is intended to improve the legibility of quality tourism and provide a guarantee for tourists. The seal demands basic commitments regarding information and communication, personalized attention, staff skills, the comfort of accommodation, and use of local resources.

Tourism & Disability Seal of Approval

Tourism & Disability is a seal of approval taking into consideration the four families of disabilities (hearing, mental, motor and visual) and aims to develop tourism services adapted and integrated into the range of services available to all.
This seal of approval is the result of collaboration between several parties: the Ministry of Tourism, industry professionals, local authorities and associations representing disabled people.
