Discover the history of France and the men who were part of it in the sites of remembrance in Rouen and the Seine Valley. Soldiers, authors, politicians, sportsmen and celebrities, there are several places in Rouen to commemorate the memory of these men.

Cemetery in Rouen, commemorative headstones and places of remembrance

By visiting cemeteries in the city of Rouen, you will come across monuments to the dead, headstones or tombs in the memory of famous people such as Gustave Flaubert, Louis Ricard, Marcel Duchamp and King Albert I of Belgium in the Cimetière Monumental of Rouen.

Like many towns in Normandy marked by World War I and World War II, there are several remembrance sites in our area. Wander through the walkways of the "Saint-Sever" English cemetery in Petit-Quevilly where the memory of the past is still tangible.

Located in the centre of town or on the outskirts of Rouen, you can also discover Napoleon’s column, the Dalle des fusillés (plaque in remembrance of those shot down), the monument to famous cyclist Jacques Anquetil or the tomb of the poet José Maria de Hérédia.
